Everyone seems to be taking Amazon at their word that they won't share data with Flock.

If pressured by the Pedophile-In-Chief, you can bet dollars to donuts that Jeff Bezos will implement that data sharing ASAP.

Despite the public proclamations and promises made by Amazon, it's far more likely this data sharing is, and will continue to be, happening.

While he is twiddling his thumbs waiting, perhaps someone can get back that 3 years of healthcare data his bros at Google accidentally grabbed through their ad department recently, and did anyone read the actual language on healthcare data that airbnb just included in their latest privacy update? I could write this list for hours, with legitimate data issues they all admit. This is basically one cabal, just several tentacles. Amazon's weak statement re flock and missing dogs [lol ummm bs] , does nothing to minimize privacy issues. Ring remains the same problem it was last week. Flock is no different. At what point did everyone just become cool with being the actual product? And even worse, on our dime from inception to where you pay these companies monthly to pimp you out? I remain floored that this is happening and the country seems to just be aquiescing to a reality in which you technically exist as a commodity.

Like your comment. The Heritage Foundation, the tech bros, the oligarchs, and the obscenely wealthy do not want democracy or the Bill of Rights for the middle/working class and poor. We are their serfs, like in the days of medieval times.

This serf is armed, trained, and ready.

Because Bozos is a pathetic g00n whom no decent woman would look at if he weren’t pUrvertedly wealthy.

Of course, they will. They're 100% behind Trump.

Emma's avatar

They're 100 percent behind them; Trump is as useful as the next person who will be behind them.

Well, we're boned.

I'm part of " everyone" and I can assure you that as part of that group, I don't trust much out of these corporations that are too intermingled with the administration.

I'm not a fool. They all have been with many administrators, but I dont trust this administration. At all.

Count me out of the trust group.

Ring did abandon flock but the surveillance state still exists with their current already in place contracts with Axon and others. Please report on this so ring camera owners understand they are still not in control of their data

I don't understand why people don't understand and it's been proven in the recent elections, WE CAN FLIP A STATE NO MATTER HOW MUCH THEY GERRYMANDER, IF WE THE PEOPLE COMMUNICATE ON THE OUTSIDE OF OUR VISION.

Cécile Stelzer-Johnson's avatar

I'm glad I wasn't the only one creeped out by the advances that Flock has made, writing at one point :" If this kind of surveillance keeps going on, we'll all be "Flocked".

Flock is a *private* company, selling their cameras to anyone who has the money. What that means is that if the FBI, CIA DHS, ICE comes for what's on these cameras, Flock is in a bad position to refuse.

It enables the Police but also your neighbor, to place you under constant surveillance without a warrant. How about the opposing Party?

Don't get me wrong, surveillance cameras can be great if they can find who abducted Nancy Guthrie or the guy who murdered 2 little girls by the railroad tracks, but at some point, we need to acknowledge a serious loss of Freedom.

Time isn't that far back when abortion was made illegal. If they train their cameras on that business, your Freedom to your own body is gone.

Similarly catching you protesting could be turned against you by a certain autocrat who doesn't like to be contradicted...

Amazon has had a rather flexible moral compass of late. When our Freedoms are concerned, I'm unwilling to take anyone's word...

Ya' know what? I read this article and checked my app and it was gone. But will it come back under another name that's a hidden upgrade?

Weird that Jeffries is pushing this hard, threatening a Governor like Trump would. Why, though? Given public opinion demographics Dems should be a shoe-in to flip the House at least, if not the Senate too. Bad optics, low moral ground, and looks desperate. Want less Trump-style politicking, not a normalization of it. What Newsom did was great though.

I don't have a garage, but I do have four video cameras out front to discourage the vandals in the night. Every time something happens I get a visit from our local police to produce video of the incident. I wouldn't object to sending them video full time.

Bezos is another ghoul in the Ghoul-in-Chief's ghoulish circus. Of course, Bezos will go along with his lord-in-master. We, ordinary folks, don't count in this dystopian America.
