President Donald Trump’s administration is stripping health insurance from 760,000 Americans just weeks before the midterms. Florida’s Trump-endorsed Republican nominee for governor has now scrubbed the phrase “Trump-endorsed” from the home page of his campaign website. Trump’s revenge prosecution of his political adversaries is still going on, even after its lead prosecutor walked away without securing a single indictment. And a group of hackers is now claiming to have stolen personal data on every FBI employee and applicant.

Trump Strips Health Insurance from 760,000 People Weeks Before Election
Today, Vice President JD Vance stood alongside Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Systems (CMMS) Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz to announce the Trump administration is kicking 760,000 people off of Affordable Care Act plans.
CMMS canceled roughly 315,000 enrollments covering those people, claiming they were fraudulent or that the enrollees didn’t exist. Another 419,000 enrollments have been flagged for extra verification before enrollees can actually get coverage. Vance said the move will save $2.2 billion.
The administration is also imposing a six-month freeze on new insurance agents and brokers signing people up for coverage, claiming the brokers are contributing to a significant share of the fraud.
Currently, there are roughly 19.2 million Americans are enrolled in ACA marketplace plans. And thanks to Republicans in Congress allowing Affordable Care Act subsidies to expire, monthly premiums for those enrollees have doubled or even tripled this year. Millions have already either downgraded their coverage or dropped their plans entirely.
The 2026 midterms are already largely defined by the affordability crisis. The Trump-Vance administration deciding to take health insurance away from three quarters of a million more people six weeks before that election seems like a sure-fire way to make sure costs go up even more for the people who can least afford a price hike.

Red State GOP Candidate for Governor Scrubs Trump from His Website
In Florida, Republican Congressman Byron Donalds has consistently been one of Trump’s most loyal allies. The president endorsed his campaign for governor early last year, and Donalds went out of his way to make sure everybody knew it.
His old campaign website had the phrase “Trump-endorsed” front-and-center on the homepage in several spots. There was a giant photo of Donalds and his wife standing with Trump, who both gave thumbs-up. Below was a Trump quote that read, “RUN, BYRON, RUN!”
All the Trump praise is gone from Donalds’ website now. The new homepage merely reads “Byron Donalds for Governor” and “Fighting to defend the Florida dream.” Trump’s name is nowhere to be seen.
Website visitors now have to click the “biography” section to find a brief mention that Donalds is the “Trump-endorsed candidate.” The “issues” vertical initially promised to implement Trump’s agenda in Florida. But that part has since been rewritten, and the section built around standing with the president on the issue of immigration has been erased.
Donalds campaign spokesman Gates McGavick told the Daily Beast the site reflects Byron’s focus on affordability and government transparency, and insisted Donalds is proud to have Trump’s endorsement.
Maybe he is But it’s worth pointing out that Trump’s approval rating is deep underwater across the country. The latest St. Pete Polls survey has Donalds leading Democrat David Jolly by less than a point, putting him in a dead heat with a Democrat in Trump’s adopted home state.
Donalds is far from the only Republican distancing himself from Trump. Several Republicans in tough races, including a number of incumbent House Republicans, have also been quietly erasing mentions of Trump from their websites as well.

Trump’s Revenge Campaign Continues Even After Lead Prosecutor Quits
Even though Donald Trump’s effort to charge his political enemies with crimes has hit another snag, his Justice Department isn’t backing down.
Back in April, Reagan-appointed U.S. Attorney Joe diGenova was brought in to lead what’s been known as the “grand conspiracy” investigation. It’s an attempt to link Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation to Jack Smith’s Mar-a-Lago documents case and other federal investigations into Trump to argue that there’s been a plot by the “deep state” to hound the president.
DiGenova is 81 years old. In 2020, he said a cybersecurity official who argued that the election was safe and trustworthy should be “drawn and quartered,” then had to apologize after getting sued.
Before he got the job, he complained the investigations were moving too slowly. But just a few months later, he abruptly quit without producing a single indictment. He left on September 10th after the White House expressed frustration with his lack of progress.
Joe diGenova made one particularly telling remark to the New York Post on his way out, saying: “If you want indictments where there’s no evidence, you have an ethical problem.” He went on to tell the AP that comment was taken out of context.
The one-time U.S. attorney came on the scene not long after a career national security prosecutor named Maria Medetis Long was kicked off the team for raising concerns about the investigation into John Brennan, who was former President Barack Obama’s CIA direcor.
Brennan’s lawyer, Ken Wainstein, told a judge the Trump Justice Department is “blatantly trying to frame somebody for a crime that is complete fiction.” And he’s made it clear that any indictment would be challenged on the grounds of vindictive prosecution.
Brennan’s been called to testify before a grand jury on October 15th in Fort Pierce, Florida. You might recognize that as the home court of U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon, who Trump appointed to the bench in 2020. She famously threw out his classified documents case. Wainstein called the convening of a grand jury in Fort Pierce a form of “judge-shopping.”
Former federal prosecutor Randall Eliason told the Associated Press there’s no valid argument to connect all of the various investigations into Trump as part of a widespread conspiracy. He added that there’s no basis for claiming any of them was evidence of a crime against Trump.
Former U.S. attorney John Fishwick says there’s no reason to expect the DOJ to back down anytime soon. He noted that the president wants action in certain cases. The conspiracy case seems to be at the top of the list.
Richard Nixon notoriously also kept an enemies list. Trump apparently has an attorney general in Todd Blanche, willing to put a grand jury behind his.
Hackers Claim to Have Obtained Sensitive Data on ‘All FBI Employees and Applicants’
A hacking group called ShinyHunters is now claiming to have broken into the FBI’s internal systems while absconding with sensitive data on virtually every FBI employee and applicant.
One of the group’s representatives told 404 Media the data in question includes agents’ full names, home addresses, personal phone numbers and even information about their spouses. They shared a sample covering about 5,000 employees, and 404 Media matched some of those phone numbers to real people, including some with direct links to the Trump administration’s Justice Department.
The group also hacked the FBI jobs website Tuesday, declaring the page had been “seized by ShinyHunters.” The hackers signing off with “Thank you for your attention to this matter,” which is a clear reference to Trump’s Truth Social catchphrase.
The group said they pulled off the hack by exploiting a previously unknown flaw in Oracle’s PeopleSoft software to get into Amazon Web Services’ GovCloud servers, allowing them to extract up to three terabytes of data.
This could be enormous. Criminals have previously used stolen personal data to track and harass federal agents investigating them. Foreign intelligence agents would almost certainly love to get their hands on it. And agents and their families could be in significant danger if that information is widely circulated.
While ShinyHunters usually extorts victims, the group’s representative said this hack isn’t about money, but about “coercion.” The representative didn’t elaborate. Keep an eye on this one.
