DOJ Purges Most Damning Trump Allegation from Epstein Files

Trump puts banner with his face on DOJ headquarters, Epstein lawyer takes aim at First Amendment, America lags behind the rest of the world on Epstein-related arrests

Good evening, I’m British Chris, and this is Raw America.

Tonight, the brazen confidence of American oligarchy is on full display. A massive portrait of Donald Trump now hangs on the Justice Department building, making his conquest of the DOJ official. A former Epstein lawyer is trying to gut press freedom. The regime is quietly purging Trump allegations from the Epstein files. And the arrest of Prince Andrew is sending shockwaves across the Atlantic.

Before we get into the news, I have a quick request. Raw America is Raw Story’s people-powered response to the conquest of the media by right-wing billionaires. The Washington Post answers to Jeff Bezos. The Los Angeles Times answers to a MAGA mogul. CBS answers to Silicon Valley Trump donors. The only way to fight back against the propaganda machine is to directly fund independent journalism. Join our movement today. Every subscription is an act of resistance.

Trump Plasters His Face on the Justice Department

Let’s start with a piece of imagery that would have seemed like dystopian satire five years ago. A giant banner bearing Donald Trump’s face now hangs on the Department of Justice headquarters in Washington, DC. The slogan reads: “Make America Safe Again.”

This is the same building that houses the department pursuing prosecutions against Trump’s political enemies. Similar banners have gone up at the Department of Labor and the Department of Agriculture. The message isn’t subtle. The regime is manufacturing a cult of personality on taxpayer-funded government buildings in a vein disturbingly similar to fascist dictator Benito Mussolini.

The Justice Department insists none of this is political. Their argument is that the previous administration “weaponized” justice against Trump, and they’re course-correcting. What they conveniently leave out is that the two criminal cases against Trump were conducted independently, and based on facts instead of grievance.

Now, Trump has turned the DOJ into his own puppet agency. And there’s a banner to prove it.

Epstein Lawyer Launches Attack on Press Freedom

Next is a story that should terrify anyone who values a free press. Alan Dershowitz, who is a former lawyer for Jeffrey Epstein and Donald Trump, is petitioning the Supreme Court to gut New York Times v. Sullivan, the 1964 ruling that makes it extremely difficult for public figures to win libel suits against journalists.

Dershowitz claims CNN defamed him by mischaracterizing comments he made while defending Trump during his first impeachment trial. He says he would have won his case if Sullivan didn’t exist.

Right-wing justices Clarence Thomas and Neil Gorsuch have already urged the court to reconsider Sullivan. The court has already overturned Roe v. Wade, affirmative action, and administrative agency powers. Overruling Sullivan would be a similarly devastating decision.

Trump has said publicly he wants to “open up our libel laws.” Dershowitz is handing the court the blueprint. A press that can be bankrupted into silence isn’t free.

This is precisely why Raw America exists. The rich and powerful know a free press is kryptonite to them, and they’re pulling out all the stops to destroy it. The only way to fight back is with a robust independent media. Become a paying subscriber now and help Raw America win this war.

DOJ Removes Trump Allegations from Epstein Files

Meanwhile, Trump’s DOJ has now removed one of the most damning allegations against the president from the Epstein files.

The latest tranche of Epstein files previously showed records of the FBI interviewing a woman who said Trump assaulted her in the 1980s, after Epstein introduced her to Trump in 1984. The girl was in her early teens when she met the eventual 45th and 47th US president.

According to the FBI’s notes from the 2019 interview, the woman said Trump forced her to perform a sex act on him. He then reportedly punched her in the head and kicked her out of the room after she bit him. The record of the woman’s first interview was entered into the FBI’s system in August of 2019 — just one day before Epstein was found dead in his jail cell.

Now, the records of those interviews appear to have been purged from the DOJ’s database, potentially violating the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

The Trump regime isn’t even trying to be subtle anymore. They’re deliberately shielding the president from scrutiny and daring us to do something about it.

Prince Andrew Arrested While America Drags Its Feet

Finally, we have the story that has American lawmakers demanding to know why their own government won’t act. Prince Andrew — now formally Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor — was arrested near Windsor Castle on Thursday for alleged misconduct in public office relating to his longtime friend Jeffrey Epstein. He is the first senior royal in centuries to be arrested. Today is his 66th birthday.

In the US, the reaction from lawmakers has been sharp. “The UK is not messing around,” said New Mexico Rep. Melanie Stansbury. “It’s time to act.” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer noted that France has opened two separate investigations based on the released files, asking: “When will there be justice in America?”

The answer from the Trump regime has, so far, been nothing. Trump has called the entire Epstein matter a “hoax.” Attorney General Pam Bondi told Congress “all” the files have been released. But a Channel 4 News investigation concluded that only two percent of the documents are actually public.

Republican Congressman Thomas Massie, who helped pass the Epstein Files Transparency Act, called Andrew’s arrest “the metric I established for success.” Now, he said, it’s time for Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel to act.

The UK is investigating. France is investigating. But America, the country that produced these files, is calling it a hoax.

Raw America Connects the Dots

These stories shouldn’t be seen in a vacuum, but as part of a deeply disturbing bigger picture. A portrait of Trump on the Justice Department building. A lawyer trying to eliminate the legal shield that protects journalists from being sued into silence. A pardoned criminal celebrating at the president’s resort alongside the men who run Wall Street. And a British prince arrested over Epstein files that America won’t fully release.

What ties them together is impunity for elites: The absolute confidence that power protects power, that the rules exist to constrain the many rather than the few.

Raw America exists to name that pattern out loud. We’re not funded by oligarchs. We don’t answer to advertisers. We answer to you. Subscribe, share this video, and help us keep doing the work that corporate media won’t.

I’m British Chris for Raw America. Thanks for watching.
