I agree that 1) the Dems are likely to win the House and 2) it is possible, but not a sure thing, that they will win control of the Senate. I think that the House will vote to impeach Trump since only a simple majority is needed to send it to the Senate for trial. The Senate then requires a two-thirds majority vote to convict and remove a president. This is a high threshold and would only happen if Trump was undeniably insane or demented, or both.
Then we'd have Vance and nobody knows whether or not he'd continue Trump's authoritarianism. My hunch is that he will reshape the White House team and put his own loyalists in major positions in the Cabinet, among White House advisors, and those taksed with important international negotiations.
If Trump can't get any bills through Congress I'd look to him imitating a plan I think is already in the works to make sure Congress is irrelevant. This means his becoming truly a dictator.
All this being said, I wanted to speculate on what would happen if the GOP managed to eke out a victory in the House by various kind of cheating and chicanery.
