Trump AG Panics As ICE Wrongful Detentions Soar

Pam Bondi's Melting Down, Wrongful Detentions by ICE Spike, J.D. Vance Genocide Cowardice

Good afternoon, everyone. British Chris here with your Raw America news round-up, bringing you the stories that corporate media won’t touch. Today’s lineup is absolutely damning: an attorney general melting down under oath, a vice president too cowardly to acknowledge genocide, an Irishman with a valid work permit rotting in ICE detention, and a staggering 10,000 percent increase in migrants fighting unlawful detention.

But before we get into it, I need to be direct with you. What you’re about to hear won’t make it onto CNN or MSNBC in any meaningful way. The billionaire-controlled media has been completely captured by MAGA interests. Raw America exists because independent, people-powered journalism is the only thing standing between you and total information control by oligarchs and authoritarians. If you value reporting that doesn’t pull punches and doesn’t bow to power, become a paid subscriber today. Every subscription is an act of resistance. Now, let’s get to the news.

Pam Bondi’s Unhinged Congressional Meltdown

Attorney General Pam Bondi completely lost the plot yesterday during her testimony before the House Judiciary Committee about the Epstein files. Trump’s handpicked chief lawmaker spent the morning screaming at members of Congress while Jeffrey Epstein’s stunned victims watched from the public gallery.

At one point, under questioning from Jamie Raskin, Bondi literally screamed, “The Dow is over 50,000 dollars! The S&P at almost 7,000, and the Nasdaq smashing records. That’s what we should be talking about!”

When asked about the Epstein files and Trump’s connections to a convicted sex offender, the attorney general responded by screaming about stock market numbers.

When Raskin tried to get her to address how many co-conspirators she was investigating, Bondi fired back: “You don’t tell me anything, you washed up, loser lawyer!” Later, she accused him of having “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

Things became so chaotic that Fox News actually cut away from the live hearing.

Democrat Ted Lieu played a video of Trump and Epstein partying together and asked if there were any underage girls at parties they attended. After a long pause, Bondi deflected: “There is no evidence that Donald Trump has committed a crime.”

Lieu then produced a file from a witness who tipped off the FBI with an allegation about a girl who claimed she had been raped by the president. “I believe you just lied under oath,” Lieu suggested.

“Don’t you ever accuse me of crime!” Bondi clapped back.

This came weeks after the Justice Department released more than 3.5 million Epstein files, only about half of the six million documents reviewed. Trump’s name appeared about 5,300 times in the heavily redacted trove. But after lawmakers viewed unredacted versions, his name reportedly appeared more than a million times.

This is your attorney general. Screaming about the Dow, calling congresspeople “washed up losers,” and potentially lying under oath while victims of sex trafficking watch in horror.

JD Vance’s Genocide Cowardice

The White House deleted a social media post in which Vice President JD Vance referred to the Armenian genocide, proving this administration will bend the knee to any authoritarian who asks.

During Vance’s trip to Armenia, where he visited a memorial for the up to 1.5 million Armenians killed by Ottoman troops, the post said he was honoring “the victims of the Armenian genocide.” It marked the first time the Trump administration used the word genocide to describe the massacres. Then they immediately deleted it, claiming it was posted “in error.”

Sound familiar? Last week, Trump blamed a staffer for posting a racist video depicting Barack and Michelle Obama as apes. Now genocide acknowledgment is a “staff error” too.

On Tuesday, Vance avoided any mention of genocide, instead describing the atrocities as “a very terrible thing that happened a little over 100 years ago.”

Joe Biden became the first US president to formally recognize the Armenian genocide in 2021. Trump reversed that stance. Now Vance has proven he’s too cowardly to stand by even an accidental acknowledgment of historical fact.

“Vance is a coward for deleting this post,” said Alex Galitsky of the Armenian National Committee of America. Congressman Jim McGovern called it “disgusting and pathetic,” writing: “By deleting this post, the VP and POTUS show they care more about their authoritarian buddies than the truth.”

Irishman With Valid Work Permit Held Five Months by ICE

Seamus Culleton, an Irish man with a valid work permit, has been held by ICE for five months in what his wife describes as “dire conditions.”

Culleton runs a plastering business in Boston. He was arrested on September 9, 2025, while returning items to a Home Depot. His lawyer believes agents identified him by running his license plate.

He told Irish radio that conditions at his Texas detention center were akin to “torture” and that he feared for his life.

Here’s the thing: after marrying a US citizen and applying for lawful permanent residence, he obtained a statutory exemption that allowed him to work legally. He’s in the process of adjusting his status to lawful permanent resident.

His wife, Tiffany Smyth, a US citizen, held a press conference pleading for help. “I just want him home where he belongs. Seamus is a good man. He doesn’t deserve what is going on.”

His lawyer said Culleton is not a flight risk and is not a criminal. But that doesn’t matter. They’re holding him anyway, possibly for deportation, which would destroy his family and business.

10,000 Percent Increase in Unlawful Detention Claims

The numbers prove what we’ve been saying: this administration is detaining people unlawfully on a massive scale.

The number of migrants claiming ICE is detaining them unlawfully has increased nearly 10,000 percent in Trump’s second term. In January 2025, the monthly rate of habeas corpus applications stood at 66. As of January 2026, that number had increased to 6,621.

Studies show that about 75 percent of people arrested by ICE have no criminal background at all. And lawyers are winning about 95 percent of these habeas cases.

Immigration lawyers shared stories of psychological breakdown among migrants in facilities for months, underage US citizens separated from parents, and families driven into poverty by legal costs.

MAGA’s deportation drive has been facilitated by rulings that barred immigration judges from conducting bond hearings for anyone who entered the US without lawful admission, even if they’ve lived here for decades. Attorneys argue this violates Fifth Amendment rights.

But lawyers warn this may be temporary. The Justice Department is aggressively appealing, aiming to get the issue before the Supreme Court. If the conservative majority rules that blanket denial of bond hearings is legal, habeas petitions would fail from that point on.

As one California lawyer said: “Right now, our philosophy is to enjoy this while we’re able to. It will not last, and in the meantime, we free as many people as we can.”

Wrapping Up

An attorney general lying under oath while screaming about stock prices. A vice president too cowardly to acknowledge genocide. A man with a valid work permit rotting in detention. And a 10,000 percent increase in unlawful detentions.

This is what authoritarianism looks like in real time.
