I am 76 years old and I remember how my father had to sign everything for his young widowed sister. She had 2 kids and a full-time job, but could not open a bank account, get a credit card, or buy a house without her brother!! My Father was a loving brother and never stole any of her money, but…. There were plenty of women who were not so lucky!😡😡

There is no way women will put up with that ever again. And they wonder why women no longer want men in their lives. I've been the only female working with men. I was sexually harassed daily, was the subject of locker room talk, I was on a "hit" list to see which coworker could have sex with me. Working with women I didn't have to worry. Ya I had a few jerks but over all nothing they are trying to push. Teenage girls yes they can be nasty to each other. My great-grandmother was born in 1898. I had enough time to know her and she was a force. She was a Flapper, made her own bathtub gin. All men better fear if this happens. Yes we woman will organize and continue to control things. Yes, the men may make the money but who controls the house he sleeps, the children she created-cause he can’t create them. We, the women. Those women may not have realized their worth but the times they have definitely changed.
I agree that younger women will never go backwards again, but older MAGA women are a particularly regressive, dependent group who traded their independence for the security of men. Because it is still difficult for woman to live independently as there is not pay equity, many right wing women marry for financial security. Plus safety as women are still primarily viewed as body parts to use and discard for sex by many males - from young Incels to entitled billionaires. They choose marriage and motherhood instead of trying to survive as singles. Then they give their lives over to right wing male supremacists, vote against intelligent accomplished women (twice for president), and help elect misogynist Donald Trump who has ushered in Project 2025. Those women need expanded options so they can make different decisions. And/or be moms, but first class citizen mothers not sad, subjugated and left behind.

When WWII erupted, she enlisted in the Navy and told stories about sailors refusing her medical treatment because she was a woman. She went on to run a tuberculosis sanatorium and was responsible for eradicating TB in Northern California. My mother got a divorce in 1952, back when “good” women didn’t do that and she was ostracized by her entire family. She told me that life’s too short to be unhappy. I was raised by incredibly strong, independent women who taught me to think for myself. And I firmly believe that if women were in charge, we wouldn’t be facing most of today’s problems.
